TRUE TO THE TERPS

As an industry of cannabis aficionados, we continuously evolve our processes to heighten the taste and effects from the cannabis flower we extract from. When discussing cannabis concentrates, the state of the input of cannabis flower is one discussion (Cured flower vs Live flower), while solvents used or omitted to extract the concentrated oil from the flower are a second discussion entirely. When utilizing hydrocarbon solvents such as butane, propane, or ethanol to extract oil from the plant, the same solvents that enter the process at the beginning must also exit the process at the end to avoid contamination. Most solvent evacuation happens before the oil leaves its pressurized vessel, while the rest happens in special vacuum-sealed ovens, whose purpose is to evaporate any remaining gas, with a lower evaporation point, from the heavier oil. Once finished, that work must also be verified by the state of Colorado to ensure a rating is met on a parts per million (PPM) scale safe for consumption. 

Solventless Live Rosin starts like any Live product with freshly harvested cannabis flower that is frozen to ensure minimal terpene and cannabinoid degradation. Instead of using hydrocarbon solvents to separate the oil from the plant, the cannabis flower is immersed in an ice water bath while being continuously agitated, so that the trichome heads with the most potential to make premium Rosin break loose from the plant. An ultra-fine micron screen at the bottom collects those trichome heads and depending on the size of the micron screen (ranging from 90μ-140μ commonly in size) the hash can be further customized based on what is being collected before the press. Bubble Hash is the end result, while the remainder of the plant material passes through and with each succeeding wash, the amount of trichome heads decreases while the amount of plant material builds slowly decreasing overall potency with it. Once the washed Bubble Hash has been sifted and all moisture is extracted, it is placed between parchment paper where low to medium heat and immense pressure are applied to excrete the oil from the sifted hash, resulting in a golden honey oil that oozes out to form a smooth, buttery Live Rosin Badder.
